Seeds of Hope

Most people are evil. Everyone else is to blame, however. Well, not really… but I follow the logic. The wicked find solace in noticing the sins of others. It is as if a worse evil turns a lesser evil into something good. In truth, any sin is every sin. Relativity cannot justify.

A good man does not measure his righteousness. He is righteous or not. He judges himself, without comparisons to others. He does not decide beforehand what he shall see, but rather he sees what he sees whether he likes it or not. He does something about what he finds: channeling his energy into what is right about him at the expense of what is wrong about him.

It is good to judge others… but only after you have judged yourself. Your judgment is never to condemn, however. You seek and acknowledge what is good about yourself and what is good about others. You delight in finding the good in your enemies, hoping it shall be what turns them into friends.

The Lord of Spirits is the Holy Spirit, friendship itself. It is freedom and justice as they truly are. As friendship, it hopes for the best for everyone. As freedom it endows you to sow and as justice, to reap what you have sown.

Most people are evil. What does it matter? A good man is what he is regardless of everyone else. He shall do good for goodness sake, even if the last one to do so.

Good people are not alone. There are others out there. They are the few lost in the crowd of the many… as the few who stand out from the crowd. They are the examples to those who yearn to care, but simply need a good reason to do so. The inspired inspire others… and goodness increases accordingly.

  1. Damn, this was well said and I agree on every point. This may actually be your best blog. I once had a saying that a pitcher filled with sewage does not dispense Kool-aid. People need to be individuals for the greater good and not just latch on to things. If people want to find out what good is, they need to work on themselves first.

    1. Yes. It is the PERSONAL and INDIVIDUAL that matters, not the things around us. To look to THINGS for answers is like the fools who worshipped a golden calf.

  2. When we point a finger at someone, there are three more pointing back at us. Only those who have judged themselves are qualified to judge others. Identify the evil, but appreciate the good.

    1. Yes. If you do not judge yourself first, you shall simply be looking for someone to dump your own evil on.

  3. Very profound! Most people blame everyone else for their problems but very few ever take a good look at themselves. Once we look inward and judge ourselves we have the responsibility to do something about it. Only then can we be qualified to judge others, but to find the good within the sinner not to condemn our brothers and sisters. Jesus is the redeemer, if we follow The Way we can see things from everyone's perspective. Some cannot be redeemed but by their own choice, Jesus gives us all the same chance but as a personal choice.
